This Week's Discussion!

We just covered the age of exploration in World History.  Some of the people that we learned about were Columbus, Magellan, de Gama, Cortes, and Pizarro.  Of these men, who made the biggest impact on the world then and now?

--OR--

There was a great deal of cultural diffusion at this time.  Items exchanged included food, slaves, religion, and language.  Of these items what had the biggest impact on the world?

  1. I think that the main impact is that the language, there are so many different languages in the world. In america there are english and spanish. Spanish is rising and people are encouraged to learn spanish in school. In my opinion, Spanish is going to be the main language of America within the next 10 years.

  2. I think slavery had the biggest impact on the world. It has been around since the earth was created, it caused many wars, including our Civil War, and it still continues in countries today. It is an ongoing battle.

  3. Awnser to question 2-Oh no doubt, all of the choices listed were extremely important. But I think the most important out of them all are most likely food, and religion. Beacuse way back when at this time, food impacted trade tremendously. And we all know that there were so many wars and feuds over religions trying to gain power. -Chris Jacobson
